G.S.B. Temple Trust Mumbai
This trust is one of the oldest and pioneer Trusts of Gaud Saraswat Brahmans founded in Mumbai at instance of a group of dedicated and devoted personalities from G S B community hailing from native place in vicinity of the then South Ratnagiri District (now Sindhudurg Dist.) in Konkan Region of Maharashtra way back in the year 1879. The prime object was towards Administering management of various Temples and properties located in vicinity of Mumbai city and Suburbs .The establishment is way back in the year 1879 which indicate that this trust has history of success and service over past 136 years .
Object
The prime object for founding this trust is towards preserving and nurturing the rich culture. heritage and ancient emoluments or places of worship coupled with generating a strong religious 1 social and economic bonding within G S B community and help the needy people irrespective of cast and creed. We are proud to announce that we are the trust who has successfully preserved the rich ideologies and principles of Saraswat1S till date and continue unabated. Also notably this trust is the unique Trust who extend financia l support to needy and people in distress towards Medical and Education irrespective of cast and creed which exhibit the service to humanity on and above religious aspects. We have great pleasure in highlighting five out of the notable religious and historic emoluments owned and administered by this Trust
1. Shree Walukeshwar Mandir & Banganga Talav- Banganga
The temple dedicated to Lord Shiva with the Shiv Limga formed by Lord Rama and a renowned lake adjacent known as Banganga Talav created by Arrow [ Shara] by Lord Rama. The Present structure of Walkeshwar Mandir is of 13th Century.
These emoluments are so renowned that the localities are named after them I to be specific the lake surroundings as Banganga and the whole area in vicinity by name Walkeshwar . At the Shivalaya ie Walukeshwar festive is observed on eve of Kartik Pornima and Maha Shiv Ratri and various religious anusthanas are performed .Further more the lake is so famous for performing various Hindu rituals that people not only from GSB community but from all over Mumbai avail the services especially during Pitru Paksha I Chat Pooja.
On and above these activities- Deep Prajwalan I wherein the lake area / banks are illuminated with mud lamps [ Panatis] which adds glory to Moon Light on eve of Tripurari ie Kartik Poornima . [To mention this year we have crossed target of over 2500 diyas ] followed by Palkhi of Lord . This illumination was released with photographs by leading news papers of Mumbai - Times of India, Loksatta, Maharashtra Times in Marathi and many others .
This Banganga Ghats are known as Kashi Ghats of Mumbai and illumination of lacs of mudlamps at Kashi -Ganga Ghats are similarly decorated at Banganga.
2. Shree Bhuleshwar Mandir - Bhuleshwar
This ancient and historic temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva with Gosha Ia and so renowned that the area is known as Bhuleshwar which is prime location and known market place in Mumbai. and worshipped notably by Gujarathi, Marwari and Uttar pradesh community. This mandir has a history of 15th Century.
3. Shree Ramji Balaji Mandir- Bhuleshwar
This temple is dedicated Lord Vishnu as Shree Balaji and Shree Rama where in various anustanas are performed during Shri Ram Navmi and Shree Krisna Janmastami and Annakoot on day of Kartik Sudh Pratipada. Again followers being from Gujarati community
4. Shree Sitaladevi and Shree Shanta Durga Mandir- Mahim
Shree Sitladevi Temple is again one of the ancient and renowned temple ( of 17th Century ) basically dedicated to Devi Sitladevi which is settled around fort of Mahim and Worli and worshipped over decades since time of Mumbai being in form of Seven islands. She is known as Gram Daivat of Mahim. Somewhere around year 1960 this Trust introduced to practice Maghi Navratri Ustav within premises of Sitaladevi Mandir during which a Idol was installed and anusthanas performed and the Idol was immersed at end of Utsav . Over years the practice became so famous and with overwhelming support of devotees, need was felt to construct a permanent [ Achal ] Idol of Shri Shantadurga Devi in Sitaladevi Temple premises . The trust successfully managed to build a Mandir and Installed Panchdhatu Idolof Shree Shantadurga Devi on 15.12..1995 Friday Margashirsh Krisha Astami. As on date all the religious activities on Panchami days and all Important occasions such as Navratri Utasav 1 Mahapanchami1 Guru Poornima 1 Datta Jayanti are observed .Unique among is Palkahi on Maghi Panchami which do parilkrama of area from Sitladevi to Shivaji Park with large no of devotees.
5. Shree Murlidahar Mandir - Mahim
This temple is dedicated to Lord Shree Krishna and religious activities are observed on eve of Krishanastami or better known as Gokulastami

The scope of work and service to community and people dose not end and extend to various avenues, of which some may be noted as under.
MEDICAL AID, EDUCATIONAL AID AND EDUCATIONAL LOAN
To needy and poor people from all communities irrespective of their cast and creed , who are in distress requiring urgent medical aid or educational aid .
To make mention the trust disburse funds as medical aid ranging from Rs 5000 to Rs 25000 which work out to the tune of few lacs among suffering from dreaded decease such as Cancer / Heart Aliment I Kidney Aliment and due to poor income need financial aid.
On the same line this trust also extend a helping hand to needy students in form of Educational Aid as well as facility of Educational Loans which again varies from range of Rs 2500 working out around in lacs every year.
PUBLIC AWARENESS PROGRAMME - CHARCHSATRAS
